The Good Ambassador

Text: Titus 2:7

In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, 8 Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.

Bible Reading:

Titus 2:11-15

Message:

Everyone that is in Christ is an Ambassador of Christ. As the ambassador is a representative of a kingdom and will not do anything of his own personal thought but in absolute representation of his king and kingdom, so is the ambassador of Christ expected to be. The words of the ambassador of Christ is to depict the mind and thoughts of Christ. His carriage and demeanor must be such that Christ approves. Anything to the contrary is a misrepresentation of Christ and of the Kingdom of our dear God. Therefore, corruption, lack of gravity, insincerity, condemnable foul speech cannot be traits found in Christ’s ambassador. It is an anomaly and a misrepresentation of Christ. The major problem though is that no one can be an ambassador of a king without first learning about the king and his attributes - the things he likes and dislikes. For Christ, the way to know Him is through the knowledge of the Word of God for Christ is the Word. You cannot properly present or defend Christ without knowing the Word and acting in it. Your words/speech and your actions must not be contrary one to another otherwise men will have evil things to say about you. For how can a known fornicator preach to anyone about abstaining from fornication? Or how does a liar come to condemn lying by another? The truth is you cannot give what you don’t have. To be true Christ Ambassador you must check your person and ensure your life depicts the life of Christ. You can only so ascertain if you know the Word of God. Take time to study the Word with the help of the Holy Spirit from today.

Prayer Guide:

Lord help me to know you more through my study of your Word that I may never misrepresent you for the rest of my life in Jesus name.
