The Lord Jehovah

Focus: Exodus 6:2-3 - KJV

2. And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the LORD: 3. And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.

Exodus 3:14-15

Our God is not someone that any being can claim to know completely. How do you assume to know fully someone who had been before the beginning, who will still be in the very end? Unless to the extent He reveals Himself, we cannot know Him. He revealed Himself to the patriarchs of Israel as the Almighty God who is all sufficient. But when He revealed Himself to Moses, He showed Himself beyond being the Almighty, but equally as Jehovah, the I am that I am.

Jehovah is to say ‘you are nothing without me’. There is no one that has his being outside God. When we describe ourselves, we start by saying ‘I am’ which simply is the name of God. Hence when we say ‘I am the President’, it simply denotes that God made me President. But many do not understand this and claim they are as if they are not made of God. When God revealed Himself as Jehovah, He used the name to confound the Pharaoh who did not give honor to the I am. God is beyond the Almighty, He is Jehovah, the one whom you depict Him to be. If you claim He is nobody in your life like Pharaoh, He is ready to relate with you at that level. And if you decide to relate with Him as the Great Jehovah, you will enjoy His being as same.

The Lord is saying to us today, do not take me as a mere being. I am able to do for you what you believe I can and beyond it, in proportions you cannot yet fathom. Let us therefore, have great faith in the Lord Jehovah, who is all things to them that receive and believe Him to do that which we profess. The time Israel said He was not able to deliver them, they found Him faithful: they ended up dead in the wilderness. Never confess a limit to the capacity of Jehovah. He will surely come through for you the way you perceive Him.

SOLUTION: With God, nothing shall be impossible. Have faith in God and present to Him who is able to do that which appears difficult in your sight. The great I am will prove Himself.

·      Father, thank you for being to me the Lord Jehovah, the great I am

·      Father, please forgive me for holding you too small in my heart hitherto

·      Father, please take me today, from the miry clay that the enemy has cast me and put me on the mountain top to the glory of your name, in Jesus’ name

·      Father, every enemy belittling your being over my life, please prove to them that you are the great I am, in Jesus’ name.

·      This day, father, please take away all hinderances on my path to the top, in Jesus’ name.
