The Lord our Keeper

Text: Psalms 140:4

Keep me, O Lord, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.

In many ways, the Lord has shown that He will never give backing to the wicked against the righteous. The real issue however is the determining factor of who is wicked and who is righteous.

The Word of God is a pointer to the factors for the determination and the determiner is God Himself and not man. Paramount amongst the factors is the fact of being born again. The one who is born again is availed of the righteousness of Christ whereas the one who is not is considered wicked since all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.

The other one will be who of the parties is the aggressor who is not dealing in love? Anyone who is found to be a liar is a deceiver like the devil and therefore considered wicked. Are you an aggressor against anyone? You are in danger: God can turn against you as the wicked party. To avoid that situation, repent urgently. No matter what the fellow has done, let God be the judge. Stop your aggression.

Is someone tormenting you in aggression? Keep your faith in God and He will preserve you. He did so for the nation of Israel. If He did it for a nation He can do it for you as an individual. He also preserved David from the javelin of Saul and all his other schemes. He will preserve you also. Just ensure you operate in righteousness. Don’t be the aggressor in any conflict.

Submit yourself unto God in all your doings. Stop repaying evil for evil not to talk of good if you want to be like your father in heaven. Let God be your Keeper and Deliverer. It is dangerous to pitch your tent against Him. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the Living God. The Consuming Fire does not just burn; He consumes completely leaving nothing.

Pray:

Lord, I need your preservation from the hands of the wicked ones who seek my destruction. Please protect me from them and keep me in victory against all they that oppose my goings in Jesus name.
