The One From Above

Focus: John 8:23 - KJV

23. And he said unto them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world.

John 3:31-36

Jesus Christ was a child born out of immaculate conception. Meaning that there was no cohabitation between a man and a woman before He was conceived. All major religions affirm that He was born of a virgin. The Christian literature says the Holy Spirit overshadowed the mother. The Holy Spirit is not earthly resident: He came from above to incubate the woman. Hence, the product of the incubation is from above. By extension, everyone that through the one from above, becomes born of the Spirit, is also translated into being from above. And they that are from above are above all, just like Christ is.

Those who are born of the Spirit operate in a different realm from those who are not. While the former live in the world, they are not of the world and are therefore marked with a difference. When the enemy begins his momentary devastation of the earth, those who are born of the Spirit are separated from hurt. For instance, while wild fire destroyed edifices in Tampa Florida, it spared a Christian worship Center. It was never kindled with a smoke. In a similar vein, when there was a fire hazard due to tanker fuel spillage in Lagos, Nigeria, vehicles and premises were destroyed in the carnage on two sides but the property of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in the middle of two burnt properties, and all the vehicles parked therein, were not torched.

The Lord is emphasizing today that His mark is upon those that are truly His because they are from above and therefore are so marked to be above all. Hence, if only we will faithfully hold on to our God, He separates us from the world and all the wickedness thereat. And when the enemy comes rushing towards us like a flood, that same Spirit through whom we are set above, raises a standard against the enemy on our behalf. Let us therefore bear our vessels in holiness that our father may bear us up above all.

Please pray:

Father, I thank you for making me a new born away from the world and worldliness. Let your Spirit continue to overshadow me for spiritual works and leanings ever more, in Jesus’ name. Let your living waters flow some more over my soul and let your Holy Spirit always raise a standard against the enemy for my sake. Please, let not my enemy triumph over me, in Jesus’ name. Let this day be a day of separation for me between those who are of the world and those that are from above, in Jesus’ name.
