The Pure Shall See The Lord

Key verse: 1John 3:2-3

2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

Matthew 25:1-13

Being baptized into the death and resurrection of Christ as confirmation of our believing in the finished work on the cross and confessing Christ as Lord and Savior translates us into being children of the Most-High. Submitting ourselves to learning obedience through hardship takes us a step further. Power is with the Holy Spirit in this dispensation. By Christ giving us power to become the sons of God is He giving us the Holy Spirit to guide us unto a point where we are obedient to the leading of the Holy Spirit. When we attain that level, we are no longer ordinary children but sons for which it is written that as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. To attain sonship is to have learnt the essence of purity and keep in it. We cannot be sons of the pure One without striving to be pure. It is the sons of God that have the hope that very soon, their Lord will appear to take them home.

We need however to be vigilant as there is a devourer out there who does not want anyone to enter into the glory that is prepared by the Lord for those who love Him. He makes more effort to prevent the sons for whom the glory is particularly prepared and is never relenting. Those who are yet to attain sonship are often considered easy prey for a fall. But for them that have all their lives been striving, the battle for their souls is fiercer. Consider the ten virgins for a moment, particularly the five foolish ones. Their being described as virgins suggest purity, and that they were invited or had knowledge of the impending arrival of the bridegroom which shows they were ordinarily qualified by their walks and works. Unfortunately, they did not meet the bridegroom and the glory for which they had all their lives prepared slipped off their hands. No wonder the Bible cautions that he who thinks he stands should take heed lest he falls.

Beloved, it is only he who is pure to the end that shall see the Lord as He is and be like Him. We shall shed the body of sin for His kind of glorious body. What a great occurrence that would be. Will you be counted among the number?

Pray: Father, please help to keep Oil in my lamp till the crucial day that I may see you in glory and receive your commendation and glory in the name of Jesus Christ.
