The Secret Place Of God

Focus: Psalms 91:1 - KJV

1. He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

Matthew 6:5-6

There is a place where God is which is not accessible to all. Only those with clean hands and pure hearts can access it. Incidentally, Christ makes it clear to us that clean hands and pure heart can be summed up in love: loving God and loving the neighbor. John made it simpler still by telling us in clear terms that it is impossible to love God whom we do not see if we cannot love our brothers who we do see. Invariably, since God is light and darkness has covered the earth and gross darkness the people, those who must survive darkness need to subsume themselves in the light of God which is made available to all those who dwell in love. Nonetheless, it is an individual affair as the one who approaches the throne of God must come in faith and commune first, as an individual.

Daniel prayed with easy access. Stephen spoke and saw the heaven open unto him. The prodigal son had unfettered access to the father. Such access made it possible for him to ask anything he desired and he was granted. Alas, he decided to separate from the secret place of the father. Even though he was plenteous in resource, he began to tumble down until he became a companion of pigs. In the end, he had nothing to show for having been in the secret place of the highly positioned father. Thank God he took a thought to return. When he was back in the secret place of the father, he was redecorated again. Point is: outside are the dogs. Those who stay in the secret place do not lack resources, protection or guidance despite the thick darkness in the world.

The Lord is beckoning on us all to return to the secret place by first loving Him and everyone else, and then being constant in the throne room to dialogue with the father. If we are constant in the secret place by praying ceaselessly as directed, and we find that darkness appears overwhelming in our lives, perhaps we only go to the throne room to play with the father without making deliberate requests over our needs, from the one who is able to meet them according to His riches in glory, by Christ Jesus. Take a turn today. Focus on your relationship with God: pray more and better alone, and see what the Lord will do.

From this very day, as the God of heaven lives, you will be granted fresh access to the throne room of God and everything you request will receive instant permission in the name of Jesus. The Light of God from His secret place will disperse every item of darkness ravaging your life even now, in the name of Jesus. By your entering into the secret place of the Most High from hence, no power of hell will ever tamper with you again, in Jesus’ name.
