Focus: Proverbs 6:16 – KJV
16. These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
Proverbs 6:16-19
There are certain things that infuriates God more than others. They are things that are terribly against love. God was infuriated at the haughty heart of Nebuchadnezzar. Though he be king, his refusal to acknowledge God caused him to end up being a monster for seven years. His proud look was the cause. Avoid pride. When we lie as if God cannot see, it is demining. Some put up such craftiness that when others hear them, they find their words faultless whereas it is a lie from the pit of hell. It shrouds their real intention. God sees. Therefore don’t lie. It is not only those who draw guns or knives to shoot or stab that shed innocent blood. Many have had their blood shed through the schemes and machinations of others. It is evil and God loathes it. Judgment will expose all of these. The imaginations of the hearts of some are just wicked. They make devices to bug and listen to thoughts of innocent people so as to trap them in some wicked ways. They are full of atrocious thoughts and plans. Yet God hates this and will not condone it. Some are swift in running into mischief, carrying tales about another fellow to people who can be of help to them just so as to dissuade them from helping. Sadly, God knows their thoughts and intents and detests it all. They bear false witness to gain recognition. They present tales that make love for a brother disappear from the heart of another brother. That clearly is abominable and not different from clear murder and sentence to hell.
Whoever is caught in any of these is pitched against God whether he realizes it or not. But, because of the person of God, if he realizes and returns to God humbly for mercy, God may take him back. Most of these items were present in the thing that David did to Urriah in the matter of Bathsheba. When he sought God with genuineness of heart, God showed him mercy. Nonetheless, since everything about life is about cause and effect, no one who has been so abominable should assume he would not reap the consequences of his abominable ways; just like David never eased out of the effect of his completely.
SOLUTION: Abstain from what God hates. Never go into an abomination believing you will seek mercy later. If your ways had been abominable before, seek God’s face for mercy now before it is too late.
May the Lord by His mercies forgive all our past abominations in Jesus name. May we never be rejected of God in Jesus name. The grace to live above lies and abomination, may the Lord grant us all in Jesus name. it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Please beware.
