Tick! Tuck! Tick!

11. And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. 12. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

Isaiah 56:1-2

There was a time in this world, not too long ago, when a man called Michael Jackson was the acclaimed king of pop music. He started as a very tender boy in the family group called Jackson Five and later the Jacksons. Before we knew it, he became a grown man and, in a while, he was no more. Time happened to him, just like it happened to James Brown, Adolf Hitler, Queen Elizabeth, Paul Crouch, Kenneth Hagin, Simon Peter, Stephen, Philip and will surely happen to everyone. Point is, as the clock ticks every second, we draw nearer our ultimate salvation in Christ, for those who are His, at His coming. Recently, on social media, a lady was brought before a mirror and when she saw her reflection, she called the name of one of her ancestors, thinking that the aged thing in the reflection was the said ancestor. She did not quickly believe she was the one as wrinkles had taken her over. Time has happened to her.

Those who are thoughtful will acknowledge that time waits for no one. As it ticks on, so we draw nearer our place in eternity. That place is determined by how we spend time in the current space. Those who attribute the salvation Jesus has wrought to themselves and therefrom keep judgment and do justice will have life in eternity when the Lord reveals Himself. Those who do not, are likened to those who sleep and waste the time allotted to them on this side of eternity, which is time measured. They are said to sleep the sleep of death. Whereby, Christ warns that the hour is near and we should therefore watch and pray. He gave us an example when it was about time for Him to be delivered to the enemy: He told His disciples to watch and pray so that they may not be drawn into temptation, while He went up to pray Himself, also. Rather than do so, they slept. When eventually the hour came, they were devastated because they were seemingly caught unawares and the impact of the result made them to return to their vomits.

Let nothing take your focus away from the Lord at this time. This is the day of salvation. Let there be no further delay. Rather, let us be sober and vigilant as we wrestle not against flesh and blood. Let us therefore, put on the whole armor of God in readiness. Those who are unprepared will not be with Christ in eternity. Life will elude them and they will have their portion in the lake that burns with fire. What then: everything that is unjust; everything that takes us to sleeping the sleep of death when we ought to be watchful, let us abstain from them. It is true that morality does not win souls but evangelism. However, like Paul said, what profit has the evangelist after preaching to others if he becomes a castaway himself? Let us therefore, workout our salvation with fear and trembling. Where will you be when the trumpet sounds: on the ground or in the air? Shed every weight that will prevent your floating. The hour is nearer now than it was last night.

SOLUTION: When we realize that darkness has taken over the earth, then we will see the signs of the end showing forth. Those who had gone before were taken, some unawares. Nevertheless, they have no opportunity to repent again. Now that we still can hear the clock tick, let us repent and turn fully to God. When the ticking stops, eternity begins. Don’t let it begin with you in darkness but in the bosom of the Lord. Repent now.

Please pray: Our father and our God we look up to you, our Savior; please do not allow us to sleep the sleep of death, in these end times, in Jesus’ name. Do hold us up in your arms and let us never leave your embrace till we meet with you in eternity, to remain in life without end, in the name of Jesus. Whatever it takes, please keep all of our brethren, relatives and friends in the light to the end in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name.
