Trust God for your need
Key verse: Matthew 6:25
Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
1 Kings 17:1-16
Worry is a destructive canker! Everything there is lies in the power of God. There is nothing that is beyond the power of God. Everyone that is created is so created for a purpose. Except something happens to cause God to hands off, no one born into the world is allowed to expire before fulfilling purpose. Aside man, there are very many other creatures who exist for God’s purpose. As low in thought and ability as these creatures may be, compared to man, they are well catered for by the Creator. Incidentally, the Creator is more inclined to cater for man than any other of His creatures. This is more the reason why it is absurd for man, when it appears things are going down, to start to shake and panic as if all is lost. The question is, how is the quantum of worry able to assuage the situation of the person concerned?
When Elijah confronted the most powerful man in his land and took to his heels, he needed not worry about how he would survive. He relied absolutely on his Creator and He did not fail him. First, he was sustained near a brook by birds bringing food to him twice a day; and later a widow who originally had not enough for herself and her son sustained him for as long as there was a lack in society. That God is still God. Problem is, we fail to accept Him as such. Everyone that must take the benefit of God must know that HE IS. As we decline the knowledge and capacity of God, we deny Him and ask Him to stand off from our affairs. When He moves away from our affairs, life becomes more difficult than it was programmed to be.
Must we continue to diminish in health through worry? Let us try faith in God for a change. Worry has shown us that it is no solution to our downturn. Let us therefore turn to God for a change and see Him manifest Himself to us. Life is bigger and better than food, drink or raiment. Think more on the side of God and His Will at all times. Then are we able to live right and well. Thoughts of food and the raiment are effects of our lust and emotion. Let God.
Pray: Father, I surrender all regarding my life to you. Please take care of my needs that I may live life in accordance with your Will and purpose in Jesus’ name.
