22. Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
Romans 12:9-21
Love has different meaning to different people. It simply is the opposite of evil. Anyone who must love the other must abstain from doing anything that appears evil to the same. It further is the affectionate display of preference of the one we love to others. We cannot be weighing down the one we love with labor, or any burden, whilst we stay aloof and watch. This is why the Lord says to do unto others as we will want to be done to. it is very important to ensure we assert goodness towards the brethren if indeed we do love them, as commanded by the Lord. When a brother appears to be in some problem, it is important we step up to see how the same can be assuaged. Even if the general impression is that the brother is wrong, it is important to first solve the problem and then ask questions so as to guide the brother to ensure there is no repeat occurrence.
Apostle Paul was a great evangelist in his time. He went from city to city all over Europe setting up clusters of the Church so as to depopulate the kingdom of darkness. A time came when he was put in chains and was therefore in bondage and unable to visit the clusters with a view to strengthening them through his personal encouragement. Now, there were other believers around him that visited from time to time to encourage him, even in his bonds. These ones took from him letters to many of these clusters, the effect of which is found in the good book that we all read right now. Whilst they were doing what they did, they may never have had the inkling that what they carried as courier, would form the nucleus of the New Testament. There were others who did not even visit him, talk-less of offering him support. Paul was able to carry on because there were people that showed him love.
The Lord is requesting that we love one another truly. True love has no pretense. It is not loving to smile with someone and do horrible things against him or his person behind. A loving character puts smiles on the face of the brother always, through support, encouragement and defending acts. When trouble comes, and we pretend we do not know the fellow in the trouble any longer, we behave like Peter in the garden, when he denied his brother and bosom friend, Jesus Christ. Let us therefore, endeavor to be firm in our love pursuit so that we do not become disappointing to the body. When it is feigned, it is deceit and no longer love. Let your brethren find you reliable, in love.
SOLUTION: Love must be without dissimulation. Let your yea be yea and nay nay. Let everyone know you for whom you are but in it all, please ensure you do not deceive or abandon your brother in need.
Please pray:
Father, I thank you for making me to know that love is pivotal to relating with you. Thank you for making me to know also that deceit is from the devil and I should deceive no one. Help me therefore, to operate in unfeigned love in accordance with your will with all of my brethren going forward, in Jesus’ name. Whatever my past lack of love may have cost me, please restore to me fully by your mercy, today. Let your love be shed abroad in my heart better than ever before from today, that I may win the kingdom and reign with you to the very end, in Jesus’ name.
If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name
