Where Is Your Treasure?

ree

Focus: Matthew 6:21 - KJV

21. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Luke 12:32-34

Every day of life, we hear of people dying, the young and the old alike. Even the infants who have not really had opportunity to live this life, are dying per day. There is none that died that took with him or herself anything he is deemed to have acquired on earth. Presidents, who at some point, are looked at as most powerful in a nation, do die. They are never buried with any treasure except in foolishness. Our God is so good that He has prepared for us a Kingdom where nothing goes to waste. All He seeks is our understanding and positive action towards loading up treasures ahead of us, for that Kingdom. Such happens when we sow love, kindness and goodness particularly by giving arms. Those who do so are beneficiaries of greater wealth hereafter.

The easiest illustration is the story told by Christ Himself of the rich man and Lazarus. The voice to the rich man was that he had his own time and enjoyment while upon the earth. Unfortunately for him, he was willing to change but it was too late. There was a barrier that separated between him and the place where the good treasures were laid up. In the place where he was found there was torment unending, for that was where his heart was hinged on when he lived on earth. He lacked love and was not loving or kind in any way. He, like many in our day, would pass by Lazarus the beggar and offered him nothing; yet went into parties to throw money at those who needed it less. His heart was in wickedness which was where he laid his treasure.

God is helping us by saying we should make up our minds as to where our hearts should be. Let us use resources to sow kindness and love, by which means we load up our heaven with good treasures. Of course, we do so because a heart of love is a heart that is heavenly focused. The wealthy lays up treasure on earth, often times foolishly, not knowing who would spend it. Let us look around us: there are treasures of old that have rot away because the old owners did not or could not pass them on to their desired inheritors. The dead has no control over assets on earth, no matter how brilliant he may think he is. Give a chunk of those things to those who need them here and find them in greater proportion hereafter, where God is present.

Please pray:

Thank you, father for how so much you have blessed me with resources on earth. Please do not let the same resources take my heart away from the heavenly home, dear Lord, in Jesus’ name. Let me be more heavenly conscious from today that I may give of the resources more to those who need them so that I may be free in my heart for heaven, in Jesus’ name. Please do not allow all the treasures I have laid so far in heaven come to waste by my refusing to lay further treasures, dear Lord, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
