Focus: Daniel 6:10 - KJV
10. Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.
1 Peter 2:13-17
It is the mind of God that believers should respect and obey those kept in authority over them. He is minded that the rulers are enthroned to deal decisively with those who do evil and reward the righteous. In some societies however, rules may be made to keep the righteous at bay and aid the evil doer. For instance, it is possible for the activities of government to be absolutely anti-Christ. It is never the mind of God, who honors His word against His name, for us to obey those who are in draconian actions and activities that oppose His word to us. It cannot be right for us to obey the laws of a ruler issued in direct conflict to our doing that which the Lord has directed us to do. In the world today, there are governments who direct their loyalists to maim and kill to ensure they are retained in office. In some other instances, they direct people to do abominable things that scriptures are against. Some are even out to ban faith and worship of God entirely. It is not the mind of God that we obey their rules and dishonor God.
Daniel and his friends were slaves in Babylon. The first action of the ruler was to change their names that had the name of the Almighty God in it, to the Babylonian names that bore in them the names of Babylonian gods. Next, they were to be fed with the meat from the king’s table which meat would include such as Moses directly forbade the Jews from eating. Then the king would have everyone in his region bow and pray only to a statue he made and called a god. All of these were things made by someone placed in authority over Daniel and his friends. But, since it all invited them to honor an earthly king over the King of the heavens and the earth, these Hebrew men rather honored God, and not the king, in his assertions. Yet, the Lord stood with them and every act they did that was meant to have devastating repercussion, did not dip them in any way. The three men went into fire and came out unkindled by it; Daniel went into the den of wild lions and came out unhurt.
The Lord is giving us a forewarning that the world is about to enter into a mode where the worship of God will be legislated against in many territories and such worship would draw the death penalty. The anti-Christ is currently working it out and will shortly be in the open. However, like He was with the Hebrew boys, God wants us to know He would stand with us as we honor Him above the people in authority who uphold evil against righteousness. Yes, like it was with Daniel and the others, it is going to be a tough call, but our faith will keep us alive and victorious to the end. It is time therefore, for us to stand up for what we believe and whom we believe. Our God has not failed before and He is not going to fail us. Let us therefore, be determined to uphold the word of the Lord, as against that of erring rulers who are acting the script of the enemy over us.
SOLUTION: It is time to contend for our faith. If we fail to do so, then it will be hard for the faith to remain by the time the Lord will return for His Church. Just imagine if that happens, how many shall really be saved in the end?
Please pray:
Father, I thank you for making me alive at such time as this that I may be part of your soldiers for the end time battles. As time goes by, the battle is getting stiffer. Please equip me to be fully ready for the battles ahead that I may win on your side, against the forces of the anti-Christ, in Jesus’ name. I join my faith with that of many other believers to ask that you please let your Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven. Plus let the righteous be located in places of authority much more all over the territories of the earth, in Jesus’ name. And by their ascension and rules, let us all, the dwellers of the earth at this time be in rejoicing mode dear Lord, in Jesus’ name.
If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name
