Key verse: 1 Corinthians 3:18-19 - KJV
18. Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. 19. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.
Genesis 30:25-43
There is none wiser than God. Christ is the wisdom of God. Men however have their own mode of what they call wisdom which in simple term is foolishness before God. The wisdom of God operates love, while the wisdom of men or the world operates to cheat others or to act in wickedness unto others. Where the wisdom of the world is in operation, God has a way He comes through for His own. It is the wisdom of the world to sweet talk someone of the opposite sex into a “consensual relationship” knowing aforetime that it was only meant to defile and dump the victim. It is wisdom of the world to talk someone into business relationship to defraud the fellow of his gain. It is also true of setting traps for people and putting all manner of nets in their ways just so that they may fall or fail.
Daniel was a faithful man, by the wisdom of the world, his foes set a trap for him by making the king to make a decree specifically for his sake after they had used their dragnets and could not get him hooked. He ended up in their den but came out unhurt because the Wise One whom he believed saw him through. Laban was Jacob’s uncle. He had used the poor man for twenty years without pecuniary wages. He, by himself asserted that God prospered him because of Jacob and asked that Jacob appointed his wages. When the poor man did appoint wages, to ensure he got nothing, Laban took away everything that would make his earnings possible. A specie of animals when given birth to were to be Jacob’s from Laban’s flock in his care. Once the agreement was reached, Laban took away every of such specie that could mate to reproduce their kind. But God, the creator of the specie helped Jacob to achieve so much more than he was thinking such that none was feeble among the flock he got with Laban left almost empty.
Is the world manipulating you with their inverted wisdom? If you are on the side of the wise God, He will turn their wisdom to foolishness in your case. As Laban lamented, all the enemies of your progress shall lament for your sake and you will come out stronger and better in Jesus name.
Pray: Father, I have no wisdom of my own; I depend absolutely on you. Help me to outwit my adversaries with your wisdom. Please turn their worldly wisdom to foolishness in Jesus name.
