3. Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.
1 Samuel 2:1-10
Whenever we read Hannah’s song in the Bible and get to verse 4 of the chapter, we hear Hannah saying simply “shut up” to those who brag about attainments and demean others who appear not to have so attained. Hannah was the main wife in her husband’s house. She had a junior wife who had children while at a time, she had none. This junior wife taunted her sore with her state of lacking a child to send around by telling her to leave her children alone. Imagine a wife telling another “am I the one that said you should be barren?” That is the way of some people today. They are fond of making mockery of people because of their seeming reproaches. They use same to put a label on them and make them feel bad and unworthy. But God is not pleased with such people because He is the Author of life – He can kill and make alive. It then baffles one when those who don’t have such capacity speak so exceeding proudly. Like God did for Hannah, He can turn a very abysmal situation around in such a way that shuts the mouth of mockers forever. He can raise a beggar from the dunghill and place him in the palace. So, even if you are the richest in life today, don’t mock those who seem to be lacking because God can make them richer than you tomorrow.
Beloved, like Hannah said shut up to Peninnah, by the reason of what God is going to do for you today, your reproach will be taken away permanently and you will damn every mocker of your life and destiny directly. God is watching. He knows and sees everything. He is weighing the actions of the proud regarding your matter right now to turn around your reproach and make you a bundle of great celebration. Set out a time to praise God today for He is going to do great and mighty things for you.
SOLUTION: Never rejoice at the pain or misfortune of anyone. Never make yourself a pain to a reproached person. Be a good neighbor in love and affection. Mock no one and be kind to all.
The One who took shame away from Hannah and turned it to joy and celebration will take away your shame today for multiple celebration in Jesus’ name. And for your shame God will give you double honor in the name of Jesus Christ. Very soon, those who looked down on you shall look up to you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Be of good cheer. God has risen for your matter.
