Focus: Acts 20:35 - KJV
35. I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
2 Kings 4:8-17
In Christ, the God-head is fully represented bodily and there is none wiser than God. Christ has shown us how it is more blessed to give than to receive. The enemy, knowing the blessedness in giving, seeks to dissuade us from giving and he appears to be succeeding. Oh yes! What he says is stop giving to the church and the pastors but give to the needy instead. Of course he knows you don’t have the time to search out the needy and that you are not so concerned about the needy anyway. Hence, he seeks to take away the remaining virtue of giving in you knowing that what you give to good pastors and the church end up with the needy anyway. It is good to identify the needy and give to same. The Shunamite saw a needy in Elisha. Of course, Elisha had no other trade than represent God. Hence, he had needs that he depended on God to meet. And since God operates not in the flesh, He needed flesh and blood to meet the needs of His worker. This the Shunamite recognized and stepped forward to fill the vacuum for God. Of course the blessedness in her giving was that her own secret and concealed need was ministered to and met.
When you decide to be a giver, God appoints others to meet your own needs also even if you are no longer praying regarding it. Your giving to the needy makes you a lender to God. Don’t allow strange teachings and doctrines of the devil rob you of the blessedness in giving. Keep on giving for the hand of the giver is always at the top. Give.
SOLUTION: For as much as you are able, ensure you strive to meet the needs of others nearby particularly those that are of the household of faith. Don’t withhold your hand again. Always stretch forth to meet needs. It is very rewarding to do so.
May the Lord bless you beyond limit to give you enough seed to sow and bread to eat in Jesus name. May you never be at the level of being a dumping ground where everyone puts their garbage but gives to none in Jesus name. And may the blessings from your past giving dumbfound even you in Jesus name. Be blessed.
