Allow The Holy Spirit (2)

John 4:24 - KJV

24. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

Revelations 19:1-6

Yesterday, we considered that we ought to allow the Holy Spirit to dwell in us for the quickening of our mortal bodies. The same Holy Spirit is the One that engenders true worship. The One to whom worship is directed dwells in crass holiness and no filth is permitted in His presence. For us to worship Him properly therefore, we must be free from filth. Such filth includes pretense and absent mindedness. It follows that, when we assume we are worshipping God, but do the same without being heartily conscious of what we are meant to do, the exercise is futile as the requirement is a must. No wonder the Lord says they worship with their mouths but their hearts are far from Him (God). It is the Spirit of God that is God and therefore, He is the One that can guide us into true and proper worship. Hence, without the Holy Spirit, worship is vain. Many gather to entertain themselves and assume they are in worship. Truth is, their activities, though seen by Heaven, has no desired impact on the throne of grace. When we allow the Holy Spirit to direct our worship, we reckon ourselves that we have communion with the Lord. The essence is fulfilled when this happens. The Holy Spirit in the life of a believer makes him a wonder in the midst of many. He starts to hear and see things that others do not hear or see. He (the Holy Spirit) makes life much more pleasurable than others experience because he now dwells in the light of the Lord and free, to a large extent, from the influence of darkness.

If you must tower higher than your peers in life, you need to allow the Holy Spirit to take charge of your life. All the confusion and lack of direction in life fizzle out where the Holy Spirit is allowed to direct the affairs. A believer that lacks the presence of the Holy Spirit is like an empty vessel that is void and easily pushed around. Life takes a proper meaning when the Holy Spirit is allowed to take predominance. Allow Him today.

SOLUTION: Relating with God is a spiritual affair as God is a Spirit. You cannot be a man of the world and expect to relate with the Spirit God effectively. Leave the world alone, crave the presence of God through obedience and then you will receive the Holy Spirit who starts to give you direction and make you intimate with God.

Father, we want to do better with you in worship. By your Spirit, please guide us to worship you meaningfully in spirit and in truth in the name of Jesus Christ. Let the beauty of your holiness rest on us by our worship so that we may radiate your glory more and more in Jesus’ name.
