Arise!

Focus: Isaiah 60:1 KJV: Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.

Read: Genesis 3:6-11

We have been told severally by different people that “arise” is a command and it means different things in different situations. The Lord wants us to know however that when the command comes it means the commanded has been in a position that he ought not to be and has a need to relocate. When the prophet spoke in our focus, his words are to a people who had lost the glory of the Lord and fallen into darkness, which glory and light has been restored albeit unknown to them. The command is meant to bring them to a reawakening for the fulfilment of a purpose.

Adam had lost the glory of God that had kept him upright, bold and unashamed. By this, he was plunged into utter darkness. He was no longer ‘visible’ to God. The Lord had to call out to ask for his position. Of course, he was naked, afraid and ashamed. The merciful One, full of glory and pure light that casts no shadow, had come with a view to restoring him, commanding him to arise. Rather than heed in repentance, Adam was full of complaints and irrelevant stories as well as self-effacing covering. The One who never leaves or forsakes His beloved, offered him a better covering to take away his shame, even though he refused to seek restoration. Had Adam repented, mankind would not have been plunged by him into crass darkness.

The Lord is asking first of all where you are in this time of your life. Are you like Adam operating in stack disobedience and therefore in darkness? Or are you struggling for an opportunity to live righteous like Christ Jesus but do not know how to? The Lord has come full of glory and light for you, and He is commanding you to arise out of those dark places so that His glory, which has brought light upon you, may begin to shine anew through you. Do not be like Adam. Don’t resist your Creator. Rather, submit unto Him and He will, through His glory and light, give you the full power to resist the devil and darkness. Welcome to your new dawn of shining. Happy New Month!

Prayer:

Thank you, Lord for the grace to be alive in this new month to receive your command to arise. Let your glory and light shine perpetually through me from today and do not let me ever fall into darkness again. Let the brightness of your glory upon my life, draw to me huge blessings and blessedness throughout the rest of my being, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Please share. God bless you.
