Focus: 1 John 5:14-15 - KJV
14. And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 15. And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
1 John 5:14-21
There is a fact which is incontrovertible. It is that God exists. Once we know that He is and we know Him well enough, we will know what He wants and what He despises. If we understand what He wants, we know His will and therefore, are not prone to messing Him up. If with our knowledge of Him and His capabilities, we ask anything of Him which is in consonance with His will, He is compelled to answer us because He cannot deny Himself. By this, we are assured of clear win in our requests of Him. His will is love and life. Whatsoever we ask that dovetails into love and life, He will answer.
Peter was confident that God’s will is to give life and give it more abundantly. So, when Dorcas died and he was invited to come to the aid of the grieving widows, he went boldly by the death bed of Dorcas, asked God for her life and because he knew he was asking according to the will of the Lord, he did not hesitate to call the dead to come to life and she did. A time was when Jesus walked the face of the earth and two of His disciples asked something against His will: they wanted authority to call down fire on a village that did not receive them. Christ declined their request because their spirit was contrary.
The reason we do not have the confidence in the place of prayer is first because we do not know the Lord well to know His will, and if we do know Him, we know we are asking things inimical to His will. We cannot be asking God for poison and expect Him to release it to us. There are many who ask for things that would destroy them eventually and when the Lord declines, they begrudge Him for saving them from themselves. We are to be careful to crosscheck our requests with the will of God so as to build confidence in our prayer lives.
Please receive this:
In the mighty name of Jesus, from this day forth, you will never ask amiss again. Whatever you ask to come shall come with clear evidence unto you in Jesus’ name. Whenever you appear in the place of prayer, because you will pray according to His will, the Lord will answer you even before you ask in Jesus’ name. All that you had asked in the past that lingered, shall be released unto you today, in Jesus’ name.
Please share with others. God bless you.
