Focus: 2 Timothy 4:6-8 - KJV
6. For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
2 Timothy 2:1-7
Every believer that is worth his salt is able to boast in the Lord in the end about his destination when out of the body. He is sure of the fact that he has received salvation from the Lord Jesus Christ, built up by the Holy Spirit to the fullness of the stature of Christ over time, and that he is beyond the level of deception for which Eve fell, but rather has conquered fear and has kept the faith as bestowed by Christ. And, even though he is yet to receive his price because he is yet in the body, he has assurance without equivocation that his crown is awaiting him hereafter.
When Christ was about to leave the sinful world, He declared that the prince of this world was coming but he had nothing in Him. Meaning, nothing borne out of deception could be found in Him like it was found in Adam and Eve. Paul declared a similar thing indicating that the journey of faith is a battle but only the one that upholds the faith to the very end has an assurance of salvation. He gave instruction unto his followers to fight a good fight of faith and hold on to the assurance of victory in the Lord.
As the month ends today, the Lord is reminding us that there is nothing that has a beginning that won’t have an ending. The critical point is to determine what and where will the end find in or with us? Are we going to be able to declare assuredly like Christ and like Paul that the baggage of the enemy is not with us and that we have proven the faith to live above deceit thereby being better than Eve? There is a crown for everyone that is victorious. But then, the victorious know even before they transit that they are already saved. Are you assured of your salvation? Make amends now, if you are not.
