Focus: Hebrews 5:9 - KJV
9. And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;
Hebrews 5:5-10
Salvation is key to being with the Lord. There is no relationship between Him and sinners. As all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, unless there is salvation, the glory cannot be restored. God, because of His love for man, made many overtures to restructure man from the state of sinfulness into righteousness but to no avail. From Adam until Christ, there was none worthy of the Lord as all the righteousness of man had been like filthy rags before God. Except for Christ, whom God Himself testified about, none has been righteous even until now, fully. All those that are acclaimed to have gone ahead, if they made it at all, made it only by the mercy of God in Christ Jesus and not by their own righteousness. It is a difficult pill to swallow, yet it is true. What more do we want God to do for us? He made angels to come dilute the gene of man that there may be understanding men who would erase the effect of the evil one and his lies, yet man remained despicable. He surrendered Himself in the form of man to die for us; showed us how to relate with God and amongst ourselves so that we may be pleasing to God. Yet, there is not much to write home about. At any rate, the One that died has taken away the sin of the world. It is only through that which He established that man can be saved. He already authored the path to salvation and life. If we obey His map-out, then shall we be saved. If we continue in defiance, salvation may be farther withdrawn unless by some special grace.
Beloved, let no one deceive you about the things of God. Christ has done everything to show us the way. Unless we follow Him strictly, the likelihood of veering unnecessarily leading to false detours and therefore derailment is out there. Outside Christ are lies and liars. Imbibing a culture or way that Christ did not approve is moving farther from salvation. It is not about who you gather with to say you are serving God. That in the sight of God may just be you going to fulfil your obnoxious desires – wanting your friends to see you or see your new car; wanting to reveal how so great a singer or dancer you are etc. It has no bearing on your salvation if in the end you are not in obedience to Christ.
SOLUTION: Why not take time to study the Bible asking the Holy Spirit to show you the light in His Word. There are so many teachers today that will mislead you. Focus on the Teacher Christ sent to you. Take hold of what Christ approves and never deviate from it. Then will you be a recipient of the salvation Christ has authored.
I pray that the Lord will by His Spirit grant us all the revelation of His Word that we may truly know Him as the end times are here in Jesus name. Truth be told, there are too many lies and liars out there and if care is not taken, even the elect will be deceived. Focus on Christ.
