Be Aware Of The End

Focus: Psalms 39:4 - KJV

4. LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am.

Psalm 90:1-12

The life of a man on earth is more like a vapor: in a moment it is visible and within a twinkling of an eye, it is no more. Indeed, when a man is born, before you know it, he becomes a fully grown person, assuming he owns the whole earth, but shortly after, he is considered a spent force and dubbed “old school”. When he considers it, he truly finds that the things he could do a few years before, he could no longer do. He sees those past days as if they were just a few days/years ago. Before you know it, the fellow is no more and so soon, he is forgotten. If only men would allow this fact in their hearts constantly, they will truly realize that there is nothing they own upon the earth as it all belongs to God.

David was a man who fancied women so much that what women did in his affairs to affect it negatively cannot be overemphasized. In fact, taking after him, his son Solomon did worse. But, when the man David grew really old, his lieutenants knowing how so much he loved women, felt like giving him a young damsel to wife just per adventure she would be able to make him warm and active again. All was to no avail. The man who used to gallop up and down, the be-header of Goliath and defeater of kings could no longer function. This is the bane of all man. As like the flower, we fade with time and unable to blossom any longer. If therefore, men will put their hearts unto wisdom to realize that all about the life of man outside pleasing God, is vanity, the better the world would be.

The Lord is keen on making us realize that we need to spend our days more in the fulfilment of the purpose for which we were born. Time spent outside of this will be realized to be a waste of life in no time. Joshua did so much to put Israel in occupation of the promised land and yet, time caught up with him that his acts were not so satisfactory. How then do we measure the performance of those who spend their days in the frolic of stealing money that is meant for the commonwealth or the people of God, assuming they are enjoying life. Soon, all their acquisitions and indeed themselves will become obsolete, useless and forgotten. It is therefore, important for believers to spend their years in dispensing love, so that generations after may not forget them too soon, and they may end up in the prepared heaven of God.

SOLUTION: Learn to number your days and put your heart to wisdom, knowing that there is nothing on earth that lasts forever; only life in eternity is everlasting. So, let us all do things that will make our eternity glorious rather than engage in vain things on earth. Start redeeming the time right now.

Please pray:

·      Give thanks to God who has given you life and has not allowed you to be cut short like many others

·      Ask God to forgive you for the way you had spent time outside His chosen purpose for you and ask Him to please redirect you forthwith by His mercy

·      Ask God to please renew your youth so that you may use it to fulfil purpose

·      Tell the Lord to please aid you that you may not miss heaven no matter what

·      Ask for your daily bread, please
