Be Filled With The Holy Ghost

Focus: Acts 13:52 - KJV

52. And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost.

1 Thessalonians 1:6-10

Every man that must excel in this dark world must of necessity be filled with the Holy Ghost. Those who are accustomed with the world are almost always filled with wine, from which they derive their happiness. But the children of God have their living through the Spirit of God and through Him obtain true and unspeakable joy. Those who are filled with the Holy Ghost have a way of navigating the earth and inflicting others with their kind of joy through the power of the Holy Ghost in them, and their presence is always felt by those around them. Indeed, they carry the power to change absurd situations into real beauties. There is no cowing or putting them down by the reason of whom they carry.

The evidence about Christ is that He was full of the Holy Ghost and power, such that He went about doing good. When Saul of Tarsus was convicted of the Spirit and became born again, he did so much to get filled of the Spirit and he went about affecting every community he visited leaving behind great marks by discipling men there. At the end of the day, his testimony about his disciples and their deeds in Macedonia cannot be overemphasized. They, like their mentor had left their footprints in the sands of time by reason of their filling with the Holy Ghost, and joy. Their joy was incomprehensible considering the circumstances under which they ministered, except for their filling by the Spirit.

The Lord is saying we should stop ignoring the ministry of the Holy Ghost for it is through Him we can truly overcome the world. No matter what the world may be pushing our ways, for as long as we get filled with the Spirit, the joy of the Lord would fill us and remain our strength. Therefore, not getting filled with the Spirit is leaving room for vagaries that may lead to downcast and possible depression. Let us get filled from today and begin to affect our environments positively, with a view to making more disciples for the kingdom. Let the joy begin: get filled with the Holy Ghost, abstain from alcohol.

In the same manner that the Lord poured out His Spirit upon the disciples in the upper room, receive the Holy Ghost today, in Jesus’ name. By reason of the outpouring of the Spirit on you today, begin to operate in joy unspeakable in the name of Jesus. Every power that holds people down, preventing them from making progress is rebuked for your sake in Jesus’ name. From this day, you will become very influential in every society you find yourself to the effect of populating the kingdom of light in Jesus’ name.
