Be Patient And Kind

ree

Focus: James 5:7-8 - KJV

7. Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. 8. Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.

Hebrews 10:25-37

There is a reason for which the believer is called to endure to the end: it is so that he may not forfeit the promise of God. For what shall it profit him who for the sake of Christ moved against the world, but in the way, tramples the Lord under feet by refusing to follow His words and way. Such a being would have admittedly restrained himself for nothing only to return into the grasp of the enemy for unending torment. Having endured hardship in the world for the sake of the Gospel for a while, the promise is in keeping the hands on the plow and not looking back. Doing that is to patiently wait for the Lord’s coming without returning to one’s vomit.

There is no believer in Christ who has not hurt the devil in one way or the other, even if it was the fact that he denounced the devil for Christ. For this, the enemy is never happy and looking for his day of vengeance on the fellow. When therefore, the believer becomes wary of welldoing and opts out of righteousness because he has been lied to about the delayed coming of the Lord, he will potentially lose the covering he has from the Lord and be exposed to the devil’s onslaught. That accounts for what many soldiers of the cross went through that turned them to casualties. If they had remained in the bosom of the Lord, they would have been untouchable to the enemy.

The Lord is saying to us that the time left for the master to return may be shorter than the period we have already been waiting for Him. We are therefore to continue in righteousness so as not to have waited in vain. Those who refrain from righteous ways put themselves in danger of double jeopardy because with God, the beginning is less material but the end. It is what He meets us in (righteousness or wickedness) that matters, not what we were used to.

Please pray:

Father, I thank you for the grace to operate in your righteousness. Please help me never to return to wickedness in any form, in Jesus’ name. When others are receiving the promise, do not let me be found wanting in Jesus’ name. Please keep me in your righteous side no matter what the enemy tries, in Jesus’ name. In all, let me enjoy your cover in the present world and the promise in the world to come, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
