Focus: Leviticus 20:7-8 - KJV

7. Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God. 8. And ye shall keep my statutes, and do them: I am the LORD which sanctify you.

Ephesians 1:3-6

Sanctification is the action of making or declaring something holy or being freed from sin. The direct injunction of God for us to be His own is that we be sanctified and be holy because the Lord our God is holy. For us to be truly sanctified, the one that can achieve the right level of sanctification for us is the one that has the standard of holiness in Himself. We are not of ourselves able to keep the laws of God without help. Hence, it is only He that can make us pure through sanctification. Many generations made efforts at sanctification in the past, using the blood of animals and all manner of sacrifice to no avail. They ended up being prey to their enemies and taken into captivity as they were not able to satisfy the Lord’s injunctions and keep them.

However, the Lord has made a way for our sanctification that we may be holy just like He is holy. That route is in Christ Jesus our sanctifier. Not only does He sanctify us, He also opens the way for our adoption as children of the Most-High God by His sanctifying us. This is an interesting phenomenon. The beauty of this sanctification is that we gain righteousness in the one who sanctifies us and not by our doing, it is a gift. Hence, for as long as we are sanctified by Him, God sees us through the lens of His holiness and not necessarily ours; and we are able to stand in righteousness in doing the things that the Lord commands. Where we are found wanting, there is now the Holy Spirit, who guides us on a continual basis, to ensure that we tow the way of the Lord and not waywardness.

Beloved, no one can survive the wickedness of the world without sanctification. It is through it that we are shielded from the attacks of the wicked. It was because of the sanctification of Peter that it became difficult for the king Herod to kill him like he had purposed. If we all will be sanctified and will remain pure by obeying the injunctions of God by the help of Jesus Christ, we will also escape every evil planned against us by the filthy world.

SOLUTION: Accept Jesus as Lord and Savior that you may be washed/sanctified by His blood so that you can be reckoned through Him as children of God.

Please pray: Father Lord Jehovah, there is none holy as you are and we want to be like you. Please sanctify us with your truth, and the blood of Jesus that we may be your children indeed, in Jesus’ name. Let the benefits of the Kingdom be found manifest in our lives, dear Lord, in Jesus’ name.

If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name.
