Be Steadfast In God’s Work

Focus: 1 Corinthians 15:58 - KJV

58. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

John 6:27-40

All over the earth, there are many who claim to be working for God. That is very good. But what is the work of God? There are works that appear like the works of God but are simply wasted effort. Yes, they are seeds sown unto corruption.  The work of God is simply the preoccupation of reconciliation of man unto Himself. Recall that when man sinned in the garden, he was prevented from access to the tree of life. That tree produces life by its fruits. Sin, which man committed, had the consequence of death. But God sent Christ to erase that consequence. However, the consequence is only effectively erased for them that believe the one who was sent. Incidentally, the one sent is the Bread of life. Those who believe Him have access to life restored to them. Christ Himself says, this, believing in Him, is the work of the Lord.

Unfortunately, we go about life today not as believers but as free will people. We decide what we should believe and what we should not in the things of Christ. That takes us away from the work of God. If we however believe Christ and raise His life in our lives, and by extension, in the lives of others, then are we engaged in the work of God. The mind of God is not only that we be steadfast in the work, but also that we should abound in it. Whatever we do: whether the work of God or sowing to the flesh, there is a reward. It is important that we do the work of God that we may reap the best from the Lord as rewards, which is certain for every worker of God.

SOLUTION: Let us stop fooling ourselves in what we do. When we sow to the flesh, only corruption comes as the reward. Sow to the Spirit by believing Christ who was sent to us, and do only the will of the father as He showed us and left it for us to do, never departing from it.

Please pray:

·     Thank God for giving you the grace to be alive today and to still remain in salvation

·     Ask Him to forgive all that you have done before now, that do not belong in the work of the Lord

·     Ask that the Lord will keep you as a believer in Christ, that will never fail Him, no matter what the situation of the world may be

·     Pray that as you remain steadfast and immovable in the work of the Lord, and as you continue to abide therein by the help of the Holy Spirit, you will never miss your rewards

·     Please ask God to breathe on you anew today so that all the good things of life, necessary for your shining in Him, will be released to you today

If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name.
