Be Strong

Focus: 2 Corinthians 12:10 - KJV

10. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Matthew 5:11-12

Persecutions, tribulations and all manner of evil are hauled against anyone that bears the mark of the Lord, which mark represents His glory, not because they have committed a fault but because the enemy is always afraid of them and is out to truncate their lives so that the glory upon their lives do not shine forth. The Lord forewarned us about this, making us to appreciate the fact that as His servants, we are not greater than Himself and that if they did it to Him, they will do worse to us. Hence, when they come with a bundle of lies to the extent of sponsoring movies to want to disparage your person putting up your name as if the character in the movie depicts your person; and fail to confront you with these facts since they lack proof and they know it is untrue anyway, the counsel of God is that you be of good cheer, rejoice and take pleasure in the infirmities; for when you are weak, then you will be made strong.

Paul spoke about God delivering him from the mouth of the lion. There is indeed no true Christian who does not have a lion wanting to devour him. But if only we will rejoice in such infirmity, such experience is God’s way of preparing us for the future to destroy greater lions. Consider the life of David, whose kindred left in the deadly forest to watch over sheep. He encountered lion and bear. The Lord saved him from them both and I reckon he would have been somewhat about the whole encounter until when the greater lion showed forth in Goliath and the Lord delivered him again from his mouth. In the end, the crown of the kingdom of Israel was placed on the head of David who was almost ever persecuted in his weakness but came out stronger for it.

Beloved, it does not matter what the enemy is doing to you in the form of persecution or tribulation for the sake of the Gospel or your standing for the truth in Christ, the Lord is telling you today to cheer up and rejoice. Do not allow the current circumstance to dip you; rather be strong in the Lord and be of good courage. For the one who has been rescuing you from the mouth of the lion like Paul will surely deliver you from all other future evil like He did for David and set you upon the throne He has purposed for you, no matter what the enemy tries. Like He said to Joshua, only be bold and of good courage. Please do not let them draw you out to react in a manner that makes you be like them. Rather, pretend they do not exist. That pains them more than your having to engage them in anyway. Let them be.

SOLUTION: The race of the Kingdom is run with focus on the goal and not the distraction. Avoid and ignore distractions that is aimed at dragging you away from the path the Lord has chosen for you, and concentrate on the goal set before you with gladness.

Please pray: Father, I thank you for preferring me like you preferred David to Saul. Please help me never to offend you in my journey of life, in the name of Jesus. In all things, like you gave David total victory and prepared a table before him in the presence of his enemies, please do better for me and let not my persecutors ask where the Lord I serve is, in Jesus’ name.

If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name.
