6. And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
Ephesians 1:15-23
Every true believer in Christ abides in Christ. He died and rose again; so does the believer in Him through baptism. By reason of our belief, the life that we live, we do through Him. That simply connotes that we are in Christ. So, when He was raised up, we also have been raised up with Him being His body, the Church. And as He is sitting now on the throne at the right hand of the throne of the father, we also are sitting together with Him. Where He is seated is far above all principalities and powers and from that same position the believer operates on earth. It follows that all things placed under Christ is under the believer, given his exalted position in Christ Jesus. Hence, the believer, like Christ, can command principalities and powers and they would obey him. Also, the believer can ask anything of the father from inside of Christ and he would be availed. In short, since Christ is by the throne of the father, the believer in Him has unfettered access to the father and he really needs no intermediary or angel to process his needs.
The truism of the believer’s positioning is made clear from scriptural occurrences. For instance, a viper is so venomous that if it bites any human, the same ought to swell and die if there is no antidote. But Paul, sitting in Christ above principalities and powers could not be hurt by the poison of the viper. Peter too could just as a matter of command deliver Dorcas from death because like Christ did Lazarus, he was operating in Christ from heavenly places. Many others have also shown this positioning. The shadow of Peter was healing, aprons and handkerchiefs from the body of Paul healed, Philip traveled miles in seconds without a motorized vehicle, prison doors opening of their own accord, chains falling off in prison of their own accord, ordinary men doing extraordinary things all over the world, even now, and so on and so forth. However, it is not everyone that calls himself a believer that is so positioned. They are not in that they have stepped out of Christ Jesus like the five foolish virgins and have been locked out. Unless they quickly reposition themselves, they are not able to confront their current master, the devil.
The Lord is reminding us today of the potentials we have in Christ Jesus. If only we would make use of that which is available unto us, then will we capture the earth back for the Lord and His purpose. But, for as long as we refuse to activate the power we carry, we would continue to look at principalities and powers operate under our noses without them being stopped. Electricity is effective when switched on for its purpose. The appliance will not receive power to do that for which it is made unless the circuit that sends power to it is activated. Unless we activate the power that is in us to work that for which it is conferred, it remains passive and inactive.
SOLUTION: There is a power that works in every believer: it either works faith or fear. When the faith is activated, because he operates from inside Jesus, he sees the effect. If fear is also activated, he is as he thinks. Activate faith from your vantage position from today and see the power you possess in Christ Jesus.
Please pray:
Dear Lord, I thank you for having me in you such that I am proximate to the father in heavenly places. Kindly help me to utilize my position to the utmost for the purpose of your Kingdom, in Jesus’ name. From this very day, let demons bow at my appearing and flee upon hearing my voice, in Jesus’ name. Please let the dead be raised and the sick recover by your power through me, in Jesus’ name. Let the operations of the believers begin to find impact from now more than ever, in Jesus’ name.
If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name
