Choose Wisely

Focus: Romans 1:28 KJV: And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

When a person repeatedly and deliberately rejects God's truth, God eventually honors their choice. He steps back and gives them over to a reprobate mind, which is a corrupted, morally bankrupt way of thinking that is completely numb to sin and incapable of making righteous judgments.

Pharaoh flatly refused to acknowledge God, declaring, "Who is the Lord, that I should obey his voice?”. He deliberately chose not to retain God in his knowledge. For the first several plagues, Pharaoh pridefully hardened his own heart. Eventually, God gave him over to his own rebellion. God began to harden Pharaoh's heart for him, leaving him with a blind, irrational mind that chose the complete destruction of his own nation rather than surrender to God.

Rebellion is a slippery slope. If you continuously push away the convictions of the Holy Spirit, your heart will eventually become calloused. We must keep our hearts soft and submissive to God’s truth today, before a pattern of rejection turns into spiritual blindness.

Prayer:

Father, I thank you for paying attention to me. Help me by your Spirit to choose you and only you, in the affairs of my life, so that I may never become too full of myself to discountenance you, the only wise God. Keep me sane to follow your leading and never to harden my heart against your instructions. Cast me not away from your will and presence, so that I may fulfil purpose in you, in Jesus’ name. Amen

Please share. God bless you
