Strong Roots In God

Isaiah 37:31 (KJV): "And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall again take root downward, and bear fruit upward."
The foundational law of spiritual growth is that depth must precede height. True, lasting restoration begins in hidden places. Before God allows a life to visibly flourish in public, He first requires a season of anchoring a strong, secret foundation in the dark. The victorious believer must first be incubated strongly in the Lord before he can gain public acceptance.
Sennacherib, the ruthless king of Assyria, had destroyed surrounding nations and completely besieged Jerusalem. Humanly speaking, Judah was on the brink of total annihilation. King Hezekiah did not panic or try to manufacture an earthly, political alliance. Instead, he went into the temple, spread the threatening enemy letter before the Lord, and humbled his soul in desperate prayer. This was Hezekiah sending his roots deep into God's sovereign covenant. Because Hezekiah anchored his foundation in the dark, hidden place of prayer, an angel was sent to wipe out 185,000 Assyrian soldiers in a single night. The siege was instantly broken, Jerusalem was spared, and the surviving remnant safely emerged to replant their fields, rebuild their lives, and flourish once again. Hezekiah proved that deep roots always survive the fiercest storms.
If you feel like your life is currently hidden, isolated, or buried under pressure, don't despise it. God uses the dark soil of preparation to build your prayer life and character roots. Stop focusing only on public results or visible achievements. Focus on growing deeper in your personal, secret relationship with God, knowing that your public harvest is completely dependent on your private foundation.
Prayer:
Father, I thank you for fighting my battles for me. This day, I submit every battle confronting my life and family unto you. I will rather tarry in secret in your presence than present a loud empty show in public without you. Please back me up fully from your secret place today and grant me victory without my having to fight, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Please share. God bless you.
