Focus: Romans 14:9 - KJV
9. For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
Acts 10:32-43
There is no controversy about the Lordship of the Lord Jesus Christ except to them who lack spiritual discernment. When Adam sinned and forfeited the glory of God, men lived through many ages in sin and were short of the glory. A second Adam was presented in the flesh though born of the Holy Spirit and therefore a possessor of the glory that was lost, He was presented a blameless man to die for the faults He never committed. When so sacrificed, He paid the ransom for the sin of the dead, the living and those who would live thereafter. Sin became defeated for the sakes of all, no matter the human coloration: dead, living, Jew, Gentile, Greek or Roman or whatsoever. For clarity, even the dead who had good works while they lived are ransomed by the death of Him that died for their sins. By that death, He bought us all over and became our Lord. Those who reject His Lordship will have to repay for His blood that was shed with their own blood, in the end.
When the day of judgment shall come, it will be for not just the living, but for the living and the dead, including those who died before the advent of Christ. They that died prior to the advent shall be judged based on their works during the days of ignorance. For instance, those prophets who did prophesy in the name of the Lord with a view to shaping the people to follow the ways of God, even though they themselves may not have known God sufficiently to operate in His will fully, they were the best materials of their time and their ignorance, the Lord would wink at in judging them. Nonetheless, everyone that had the opportunity to listen to the Good News about the Lordship of Christ but turns away from Him shall be deemed wicked and would be called to account at the judgment.
It is never too late to repent and embrace the Lordship of Jesus Christ. A denial of His Lordship is a direct denial of God who sent Him. Imagine a mere mortal calling God stupid! The Lord who is longsuffering is offering every one of us a new opportunity to repent now and recognize His Lordship so that we may be partakers of the glory to come. Incidentally, there is no room to repent once time is up. Those who fail to repent now will not have another chance once the Lord comes. God is making a clarion call now that we seek Him while it is yet day.
