Focus: Romans 8:29-30 - KJV
29. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
John 3:1-10
There is this thought that God has no children. That can’t be correct if we are to believe scriptures. The Bible called Adam the son of God (Luke 3:38). He was the son of God when, after the molding of the dust into a shape, God breathe His Spirit into his nostrils and he became a living soul. Through sin, he lost the Spirit as God’s Spirit can never be subsumed under Satan who had become the master of the man. When God decided to rescue man, since the one who caused the Spirit to depart was a son of God as a man, God decided to bring another Son to die for the sin of the initial one. Scriptures agree again that Jesus was born of a mother without knowing a man. Indeed, the Bible says, the Holy Spirit overshadowed the mother. Meaning the child was born of the Holy Spirit. Since the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God and therefore God, then the proceed of such birth is Son of God. So, for any man to be son of God, he must be born by the Holy Spirit. Once Christ died, the fleshly birth which is linked to the fallen Adam need to give way to the Spirit rebirth. No wonder Christ told Nicodemus, for anyone to see or enter the Kingdom of God, he must shed the link to the fleshly birth and be born of the Spirit so that he becomes spirit. How done? By the death of Christ, power to become sons of God was released to as many that will believe in Him and the fact that by His death, the penalty for Adam has been paid. So, because there is no other whom the Holy Spirit gave birth to directly by incubating a woman, He is the only begotten of the Father. However, since He was born as the Son of Man, every other man born by the Spirit for believing in him, becomes a child of God with the potential to grow into sonship. Hence, for as many sons as there may be, He is the first born among them, the many other brethren.
Beloved, this is mystery to the mind of many. But by the Spirit of God are such insights and we need to understand them now so that we may take the full benefit of the sacrifice of our firstborn in God. Nicodemus, though a teacher among the Jews of their tradition, could not understand it and Christ marveled wondering what the Jews were being taught if the teachers were ignorant of the things of the Spirit. The Lord invites us today to raise our bar of understanding beyond that of Nicodemus. They who are born of the Spirit are spirit. If we become born again, it means we are born of the Spirit and ought no longer to fulfill the desires of the flesh so that what the Lord who called us has predestined for us may start finding manifestation.
SOLUTION: Spiritual birth is critical to success in life. No matter how placed in the world, being born of water and of the Spirit is key. Else, those who are not, will live life as spectators of the things of the Kingdom without having a taste or feel of it. Get born again.
