Crucify the flesh

Text: Galatians 5:24

And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

Message:

The Christian faith appears to have grown over the years. Unfortunately, the world is not getting the impact of such “growth”. Rather, gross darkness is gathering the more over the whole earth. The reason for this is not far fetched: many claim to be Christians but are not in any way Christ-like. For you to be like Christ, who of course was born of the Spirit and not of the flesh like the first Adam, you must shed the flesh which is the nature of the old man, the first Adam and imbibe the Spirit which is the nature of Christ and live by Him in totality. You cannot present yourself Christ-like in some company and be venomous like the beast while in another company. Indeed, your goodness like that of Christ must be seen by all men. Let your light so shine is God’s instruction to you. That emotion that moves from comportment into fleshly lust from time to time is your albatross. Deal with it now for Christ to dwell richly in you. The will of God for you is that wherever you appear, everyone may identify Christ in you. But that is not so today because of your chameleonic standards like the members of the first Church whom Paul addressed in our Bible reading. What have you to gain from fleshly lusts and undue ego? It is a canker to the soul. Flee from it. Are you Christ’s? Consciously live from today eschewing lusts and all its affections and you will be so surprised how so brightly you will shine, like Christ. It is only when you crucify the flesh that you are truly Christ’s.

Please help me father: let me be truly filled with your Spirit never again to fulfill the lusts of the flesh that I may be like you and reign with you henceforth even unto the end in Jesus name.
