Cry Unto Your Strengthener

Focus: Psalms 138:3 - KJV

3. In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul.

Psalms 183:1-4

Our God is greater than any other being and will be magnified if we will call on Him in the days of our trouble genuinely, and expound His words unto others so that His name may be glorified. The whole essence of calling on God should be that His word may be exalted amongst those who hear it. When we cry unto Him, He graciously responds to us according to His word. Upon such response the heathen sees and observes the mysteries of God’s doing based on His word and come to the recognition of the potency of the word of God thereby creating in them a seed that brings about belief in the word. Point is, the one we cry to is never a liar. He strengthens us to do wonders.

When Peter and John got to the beautiful gate and saw the lame beggar, they recalled the word of God concerning the signs that would follow them that believe when He said, in His name we shall cast out devils, speak in new tongues, lay hands on the sick and they would recover. Leaning on this word of God for strength, they told the lame man that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth he should rise and walk. And when he appeared not to yield, Peter effected the laying of hand by making contact, and the word came to life as the lame began to operate in wonder. That was not all, once the people saw what happened and wondered how, Peter found an opportunity to present to them the word that brought the performance about and God was glorified.

The Lord is inviting us to lean more on His word for strength. He magnifies His word even above His name that is precious. Hence, He backs the word up to ensure it does not fail. The reason many seem not to see the answer to their requests from God is because they do not hinge their requests and cry upon the truth of the word. Many times, they ask contrary to the word which is the will of God and therefore do not get the desired result. The Lord is inviting us today to taste and see that He is sweet by crying unto Him by His word and receive strength to do exploits that the Lord may be glorified by His word.
