Focus: Galatians 3:13-14 - KJV
13. Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: 14. That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Romans 4:6-17
Moses got to know a bit of the person of God, realizing that God abhors sin. He received the story of the creation and that of the patriarchs and he became surreal about what Adam had done in the garden, choosing sin and death over God. Hence, Moses put together a statute that condemned those who would choose sin over godliness, to death. He prescribed death by hanging outside the city so that the curse of the sinner would not pollute the land. When Christ came to take away our sin, the law that Moses prescribed had to take its course, for righteousness to be imputed unto us, the heirs of salvation. So, when Christ bore our sin, He had to be hung on the tree that He may bear the curse attached to our sin.
Of course, unless the sin be taken away, the promise of the restoration of the Spirit whom Adam lost in the garden in exchange for sin, would not materialize. Therefore, by the sacrifice of the volunteering Jesus, who took away the curse on Himself, we became entitled to the blessings of Abraham. Not only those who come from the natural loins of Abraham, but everyone who takes the blessing by faith, since Abraham is the father of faith. So, whether Jew or gentile, for as long as we believe in the finished work on the cross, we become entitled to the promise, and so do we receive the Holy Spirit, in restoration. The result is the ability to do exploits and is evident in the lives of many today.
Beloved, there is no reason we should go about under the guilt of the curses pronounced under the law which Moses handed down. It is true that death is the consequence of sin. Since Christ died for us, we ought not to cringe anymore under the fear of death, if we would yield ourselves to righteousness, through faith in Him that was crucified. No matter what the enemy may be dangling before us, if we have faith in Him that died, then we should refuse to believe the counsel of the enemy, but hold on to the promise that we have by calling them to performance as they are the words of the one who calls the things that are not as though they are. Confront the enemy with boldness by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will see the salvation of the Lord in that matter.
SOLUTION: Let not the enemy deceive you by making you feel the guilt of sin is weighing you down. Accept by faith the ransom that Christ did for us and receive the Holy Spirit that will make you thrive in life. Come forth with boldness which the Spirit bestows on you, and start showing forth the blessings of Abraham.
Please pray: Father, we appreciate you for taking the curse in our stead. Let the promise of the outpouring of your Spirit be manifest in our lives anew today, in the name of Jesus Christ. Please let us start to show forth the blessings of Abraham in our daily lives and pursuit, in Jesus’ name.
Kindly share with others if you have been blessed by this Guide. God bless you as you do so, in Jesus' name.
