5. His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
John 2:1-10
In medicine, doctors are trained to heal diseases and bring the victim to wellness. And, because the doctor is expected to know much more than the patient, for the utmost effect of the healing therapy, the patient is expected to use the prescriptions of the doctor in the exact way it is prescribed. Where for instance, the patient decides to discountenance the prescription of the doctor, the ailment remains with the patient. If he decides to use the prescription in his own way, beyond what the doctor prescribes, he runs into an overdose and hurts himself more than his original ailment. Catastrophic! In the same way, Jesus is the one through whom all things were created and there is nothing that is that exists without Him. He knows how best to make water become wine that no human brain can contemplate or imagine. He knows how a man born blind can gain his sight by washing in Siloam. He knows how to make five loaves and two fishes feed a congregation of five thousand men and more with twelve baskets left over. So, when such a person, who has the Master Plan of life in His coffers, tells us what to do, we ought to do it to precision, for the best results.
It is however, bothering to note that people would rather do what suits their lusts than obey the instruction of Christ. At the marriage in Cana, He told them what to do. If they had done it differently, they would have ended up drinking their water plain and not wine. The way to casting out tough devils is through fasting and prayers, Christ said to us. Many will never take time to fast but will continue to pose as demon commanders. The reason why we are not effective at the things we do is because we do not follow the prescription of the Master. Others want to make money. All they do is study some philosophical order of how to be successful. Meanwhile, the prescription of He that must be obeyed is to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness for all those other things to be added to us. The mother of Christ knew better and told us so. If we fail to obey what He says, we by ourselves get condemned to failure. To succeed and win, we need to obey every precept that flows from the author of life.
Father, please help us to be fully obedient to you in all that we do that we may always have good success in all our endeavors, in Jesus’ name. Whatever will not make us do precisely what you instruct, please take them out of us by your power, in the name of Jesus Christ. Whatever it will take to have us succeed in life by your instruction, please do for us in Jesus’ name. And in all our lives, let us never be deaf to your instructions in Jesus’ name. Do add to us all the benefits of obeying you, in Jesus’ name.
SOLUTION: Never assume you know better than the Lord. Whatsoever He asks you to do, just do it and stop using your brain to calculate the outcome for the result will stun even you, if you obey to precision.
