Do Not Be Afraid Of Reproach

Focus: saiah 51:7 - KJV

7. Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings.

Matthew 10:17-31

Reproach is expected from the world against the believer as the servant is not greater than the master. Since the world reproached Christ, the believer cannot expect anything less. But it becomes really disheartening when the reproach comes from people considered to be brethren in the same vineyard. Wait a minute, there is nothing new under the heavens: Judas was one of the brethren of Christ and still found it convenient to sell his master. Christ’s reaction to such reproach should be our example. He was not afraid but rather urged Judas on to do what he wanted to do, knowing fully well that it was the means to His fulfilling His purpose on earth.

Today, there are many who are unduly weighed down because of the reproach of both the world and “the brethren” to the extent that they are afraid of what lies in store for them in the near future. The counsel of God is fear not. Just like it was for Christ, all things will work together for your good because you know righteousness and store up God’s word in you. No matter the reviling of the enemy, God is sure to bring you to an expected end. They reviled Joseph and he ended up where God wanted him to be. He had no option than to take his fate as it came. Even if he feared, it would have done him no good. By the reason of your being of the Lord, the reproach you experience will only work for your good. Do not fear. Rather than dip, you can only soar.

SOLUTION: Fear not, for fear is a torment. It actually suggests that the reproach is bigger than God when you fear because of the reproach. Stand firm in faith and see God come through for you.

Please pray:

·     Thank God for being your strength in the face of adversity. He has prevented the enemy from putting you down severally. Give Him thanks

·     Pray for the Lord to strengthen you to be able to stand in the face of adversity from whatever quarter it may come

·     Ask God to forgive those reproaching you and show them the truth of the goodness of God that they may repent and become great in expressing love instead

·     Ask God to use the current reproach situation as springboard to catapult you to the throne prepared for you

·     Do tell the Lord the places where you need the soothing balm to help you ease out of the pain of the reproach from your frenemies.

If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name.
