Focus: Galatians 6:9 - KJV
9. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Isaiah 33:14-16
Righteousness is quite great. But it attracts a lot of negative attacks. Whenever you are doing the work of righteousness, be sure to receive attacks from the workers of darkness. Invariably, at a time in the life of the righteous worker, there is the tendency to be weary because of the load of evil hauled at him by the workers of darkness. But if the righteous can continue in righteousness, the unrighteous, seeing how the righteous keeps matching on, will be afraid and fear will grip him. It is not because he is just tired of unrighteousness, but because the Consuming Fire is always on the side of the righteous and who can withstand the Consuming Fire? So, it does not matter what the devil is hauling at the righteous, he is protected by the Consuming Fire and therefore should continue in righteousness. Of course, the righteous is not able to see the battles that had been fought and won by the Lord for him. However, the counsel of God to the righteous is not to be weary in righteousness. A time is coming for the righteous to reap from his well doing if he will faint not. For the promise of God for him is that he shall dwell on high: his place of defense shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.
Beloved, those things that are happening to you because of your decision to live right are not peculiar. It is the way of the devil against the righteous. Keep being righteous still. The one that has kept you on your feet thus far will not depart from you. If, however, you have not been righteous in the past, please be enjoined to turn to righteousness speedily for not being righteous is being against the Consuming Fire. And if you must know, that fire consumes the unrighteous truly. If your case, on the other hand is that you are getting tired, please don’t be. For your long suffering is due to be rewarded in due season. And that season is not so far away.
SOLUTION: Righteousness exalts even a whole nation. Stick with righteousness no matter what. Even when it appears like the end has come, trust God and remain righteous. Remember Daniel and his friends in the lions’ den and fiery furnace respectively. Because they remained righteous, their rewards came eventually.
Our Father and our God, we thank you for the way you have fought evil for our sakes in times past. Thank you for not letting the haul of evil turn us away from you. From this day, Lord, please refortify us against every attack of the enemy in Jesus’ name. The strength to continue in your word and not be weary, please release upon each of us in Jesus’ name. And by your power, please make our rewards sure and glaring in Jesus’ mighty name.
