Don’t Hesitate To Call On God
Focus: Psalms 91:14-16 - KJV
14. Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. 15. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. 16. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
Psalms 50:7-15
One of the chief undoing of many is the refusal to call on God. Some, perhaps because of guilt feeling for some misdeed of the past, or the simple fact that they do not have the boldness to approach God as their father. God is not one who interferes in the affairs of men, uninvited. Because He loves us, He may do things to favor us in affairs that we are not aware of, but come to realize subsequently. However, from the time Adam blamed God for giving him a helpmeet, God will ordinarily wait on man to put his request or laudable cause forward, before He acts on it. The rule is “ask, and it shall be given unto you”. Nonetheless, God is keen to listen to, and come to the aid more particularly, of those who set their love upon Him. That is, those who love Him. And, like we know, loving Him is obeying His commands.
When we call on God, He answers. When we refrain from calling, He wonders why we prefer to go through hardship without reaching out to Him, when we have Him as Ally. When we do call on Him, He stands by us in our situation to ensure He delivers us from it and honors us before men. Recall the case of Daniel in the lion’s den and his three Hebrew friends in the lake of fire. God stood with them to deliver them and gave them honor before men. The underlying criteria for this was setting love on God and calling Him in the time of trouble.
What is that thing that is troubling you at this time? The Lord is sending this your way to prompt you to call on Him NOW! He wants to answer you and attend to the matter so as to deliver you and bring you to honor because of it. Therefore, let not your heart be troubled. Rather, repose confidence in God whom you love, cast your burdens on Him for He cares for you. Enough of suffering in silence. Reach out to God today and put an end to that trouble. The Lord is waiting for your call. Dial His number.
SOLUTION: Take time to worship God, thank Him for past deeds in your life, show Him you love Him and ask for His mercy regarding your past iniquities. Then, let Him know precisely how you need Him to help you in the situation at hand. Be bold to tell Him just like you would have discussed with an earthly father or benefactor. Your joy is at hand.
Please pray: Father, please help me! I cannot go it by myself; I need your help in the affairs of my life, currently. Please give me victory over my challenges and deliver me from my troubles in Jesus’ name. In the places where I had been rejected, do make me to be accepted and celebrated in Jesus’ name.
