Focus: Psalms 119:18 - KJV
18. Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.
1 Corinthians 2:6-12
There is a fundamental issue faced by the human race: it is that of the identity of the true God. Many believe like David, that if we search the scriptures very well, we would find the identity of God in it. True. But which scripture are we to so scrutinize? Incidentally, it appears most religions lean on the Torah for their basis. Yet, a careful scrutiny of the Torah will reveal a pointer to the person of Jesus Christ as the Lord of all who was promised of God to deliver mankind from the debacle created in the garden. Many do know the Torah, but they are not able to fully perceive God from it. It remains a mystery to them and they are unable to put the dots together. Hence, when Jesus came, it was the custodians of the Torah that antagonized Him the most. Truth is, no one can have true understanding of the word of God without the Holy Spirit first opening his eyes to it.
Saul of Tarsus was a veritable teacher of the law. He assumed he knew it so much that he would fault anyone by it. No wonder he killed Christians for preaching the truth and declared them blasphemous. When the Holy Spirit took hold of him, his teaching tunes changed completely and those that were with him at the beginning could not understand what came over him. He then began to see the wondrous things of God in the right light and perspective, and he began to rightly divide the word of truth.
There are still many today who depend on the parochial knowledge they received from their human teachers to dissect the word of God. Incidentally, there are still great truths waiting to be discovered in the word of God which will make mankind to understand the person of God much more, so that we can all live to properly please Him who so loves us. The Lord is inviting us to the eye-opening session in the hands of the Holy Spirit so that we may see more of the things which the Lord is ready to release unto us. We need to be attentive to the Holy Spirit in the place of prayer, to achieve much more.
SOLUTION: Let everyone submit himself to being schooled by the Holy Spirit so that we may all see more wondrous things in the word of God. It is the Holy Spirit that understands and searches the deep things of God. Let Him unearth them to us.
Please pray:
· Give thanks to God for sending to us the Holy Spirit who is to teach us all things and bring to our remembrance the things that Christ taught us
· Thank God for all that you have acquired in knowledge about God through the ministry of the Holy Spirit
· Ask God to please open your eyes the more by His Spirit, that you may see more wondrous things in His word that are not common to all
· Ask God to please make you doer and not just hearer of the wondrous things of God
· Ask for your daily bread. It is your entitlement
