Memorize: 1 Corinthians 1:9
God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
Read: 1 Corinthians 1:2-9.
When a person becomes born again, he consciously forsakes fellowship with the devil and enters into one with Jesus Christ. The Lord has promised equal right unto anyone that comes to Him because He is not a respecter of persons. What that means simply is that once you enter into fellowship with Christ, you are entitled to all the benefits of the Kingdom enjoyed by those who had gone before you or being enjoyed at the moment by anyone you know and yet that may be enjoyed by anyone in the future.
God is faithful. When on the day of Pentecost, He poured His Spirit upon the disciples in the upper room, He did the same thing for the gentiles in the house of Cornelius with Peter present. The manner of knowledge and speech exhibited by the apostles was not different from that of the Corinthian Christians who came afterward. They also showed the gifts of the Holy Spirit manifest unto them. Beloved, you have also been called unto the same fellowship and all the gifts are available to you if you can exercise faith. Peter was so loaded that his shadow was healing the sick. You know what? Your shadow can equally heal the sick. Handkerchiefs and aprons from the body of Paul raised the sick. Yours too can. It is nostalgic that even though we are called into the same fellowship these saints of old were into, we fail to exhibit the power in that fellowship. The only reason is because we fail to be fully in the fellowship and therefore we deny the power in it.
The kingdom is in power and the ability to repel darkness at will. Non-manifestation is not the fault of God. He remains faithful and is willing to replicate the same work and greater works even. The problem is our refusal to grow up to the stature of the one we are called to fellowship with. We did not hear any of the exploits of Cornelius yet we heard that of Peter as it could not be hidden. The difference is growth in fellowship. We are also expected to continue to imbibe Christ in fellowship that we may attain His stature and start to show forth greater works than He did.
Pray:
Father, it is worthless to be in the Kingdom and not be able the manifest the power therein. Help my growth dear Lord that it may show in my doing greater works than the Master did while on earth in Jesus’ name.
