8. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Psalms 24:3-6
God is a being and therefore approachable. However, He is not approachable to every manner of being because He is a peculiar being. He is such pure Light that anything that is impure burns at His presence. Hence, He requests that we all be holy as He is holy. Now, because He is Love, He does not desire any to burn. Rather than have men approach and burn, there is a gulf of separation that admits only a category of beings that have pure hearts and clean hands. It is like a visa that permits access without which the Lord is withdrawn from the beings. Yet, if anyone is able to approach and see the Lord, the same is afforded all the blessings he can attract from the presence of the All-powerful God.
Jesus Christ is the representation of the being of God amongst men. He did say, if we see Him, we have seen the father. There was a time when He was thronged by many adherents of the faith wanting to hear Him. There was a lady in the crowd who had suffered hemorrhage for twelve years. The push was sufficient to prevent her from seeing the Lord. But she had a pure heart believing that if only she could touch the helm of His garment, she would be free from her sickness. The purity of her heart created access for her, she indeed touched the garment and received her healing. That was not all, Christ by Himself sought to know and meet her and in the end, she saw the Lord and communed with Him.
All the Lord seeks of us is purity in our hearts. For as much as we can keep our hearts pure, begrudging no one and taking no evil thought against any, then we become attracted to the Lord’s light and the blessings that flow from Him. The power of the Light repels all forms of impurity. It needs no one to state or accuse. All impurity melts in His presence. Hence, the Lord is saying today that we need to work out our salvation with fear and trembling such that those who think they stand should take serious heed lest they fall. There is still opportunity of access for as many as will keep their hearts pure, to see God.
Please pray:
My father and my God, I thank you for putting your gene in me which keeps me in purity just like you. Even before I make attempt to come before your throne, let the power of the light from your presence burn off every form of impurity that may be left in my heart, in Jesus’ name. Please let me never be separated from your presence where I stand perpetually so that I may never lose sight of you, in Jesus’ name.
Please share with others. God bless you.
