Fear God and live

Memorize: Proverbs 19:23

The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.

Read: 2 Samuel 12:1-13

The might of God is far distant when compared to the frailty of man. Yet man seem not to have regard for God. If God must erase a man completely, it is without an effort. His toe will be too big to crush a man to death if He must. When Elijah called fire down on the captain and his fifty, they were turned to ashes effortlessly. A whole Egyptian army was drowned in the Sea, effortlessly. One then wonders what is with some men that they refuse to honor or fear God. Wherever God is, the enemy stays far away. When He was with Adam and Eve, it was difficult for the enemy to mess with them. He cunningly came to the woman through the snake. Once he saw that the woman became his servant, he deserted the snake and took the woman over to deceive the man. It was when the man fell and was distanced from his God that death set in.

Those who fail to honor and fear God are beckoning on death. David fell into the trap of the enemy; death glared him in the face. But he understood the tenets of God that if you fear Him, you will live. So, through the fear of God, he repented of his folly and lived. Hezekiah was king in Judah. The Lord announced to him his death through a prophet. In the fear of God, he returned to God showing his cause, why he should not die and the Lord elongated his life. Anyone that fears God has signed a contract to live in that the Lord backs him up against the actions of the devil.

Are you going through a situation in the hands of the enemy right now? Are you sick, in bondage of sort or a relative of yours is in such situation? The same can still have life if he can fear God and honor Him by giving his life to Jesus even now. Like king Hezekiah, God can elongate the life of the fellow. He doesn’t have to so die. All he needs to do is to forsake his sins and his sinful ways never to return to them again; but surrender completely forthwith to the salvation offered by Christ and His Lordship. From then on God takes him over. He is guaranteed life here and if he dies physically, he only falls asleep with guarantee that he will rise in the end with the dead in Christ. Dying in sin can only lead to eternal damnation. Fear God and live.

Pray:

Father, thanks for loving me and making me your own. Help me to always live in awe of you that I may live and reign with you in eternity in Jesus name.
