Focus: Revelation 2:10 - KJV
10. Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
Matthew 10:17-22
The life of a believer is not ladened with pleasure and enjoyment. He is called to wrest people from the grip of the enemy and the enemy will not stand by to watch that happen. He is bound to fight back. Such fighting back is by wanting to cause distractions for the believer by giving him problems to grapple with. Hence, many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord saves him from them all. Since he has salvation from the Lord, he is expected to endure suffering from the enemy which is only for a short-while. Those who so endure to the end, are assured of the crown of life when they meet with the maker. There is always profiting in the end. Those who, due to fear of suffering or pain, succumb to the pressure of the enemy, should not expect any gain in the end.
Paul spent the bulk of his ministry in chains, transported from prison to prison and coast to coast. In actual fact, before going into tribulation he received warnings from the Holy Spirit from place to place of the peril that was waiting for him where he was headed. Rather than succumb to fear, he rebuked the messenger that brought such tidings and expressed how such messages broke his heart, coming from fellow soldiers of the cross. For him, to live was Christ and to die was gain. This suggests that his life he lived by Christ and if he died in persecution, he would gain Christ and eternity.
The Lord is telling us ahead so that we would not claim that we were not forewarned of the tribulations that are a surety for the believer. Any preacher that goes about telling converts that their conversion is meant to bring them into comfort on earth is not truthful. Let us therefore prepare our minds against all that the enemy my bring our ways, prayerfully cutting off the potency thereof and stoutly standing in Christ, no matter what. To fear is to enter into torment. God has not given us the spirit of fear. Therefore, fear not. The Lord is with you, no matter what.
Please pray:
Father, I thank you for being my shield and my buckler from every action of the enemy. I pray that you please keep me shielded from the fangs of hell and every terror from the pit of hell aimed at dislodging me from you, in the name of Jesus. Grant me the strength to withstand whatever attack the enemy is cooking up, and make me a true overcomer, in Jesus’ name. Give me the fortitude to remain standing in you till we meet in the end, in Jesus’ name.
Please share with others. God bless you.
