Focus: Isaiah 26:3 - KJV
3. Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
Isaiah 30:15-26
It is unfortunate that men assume they can get ransom outside of God. They seek hope and succor from places where they do not exist. In actual fact, they seek help from the source of their affliction and get plunged in greater crisis. Those who fix their gazes on the Lord away from the “molten images” of gold and silver that they created for themselves which primarily is responsible for their down tide, get restored in goodness by the Lord. For our God is a merciful and upright God who keep those who stick with Him in perfect peace away from all the surrounding storms created from the abandonment of the goodness of God, in the first place.
Abram was a man who heard God and related with Him. He shifted focus from God because of famine and went into Egypt. His wife was coveted and his living was compromised until he returned to winning ways in God. Isaac was faced with famine in the same land and heard God say do not go down to Egypt but stay in the land. He kept his focus on God and became so blessed that his neighbors envied him. Then came Jacob: he also experienced famine in the land. Having known of the experiences of his father and grandfather, rather than keep focus in God for his sustenance, he went into Egypt where the idol of his mind dwelled and the result was servitude and pain for four hundred and seventy years.
God is saying to us that it is important we make up our minds as to whether He is the Lord of our lives or not and follow our decision. If God is truly God in our lives, then we need to start relating with Him as such. Those who treat God shabbily have subsumed themselves under other gods who lack the ability to ransom anyone from themselves. Hence, the Lord insists it is a day of decision. He does not want His name associated with people who are far away from Him and therefore exhibiting wrong evidence which are inimical to God and godliness. Those who do know their God (who keep focus on Him) shall be strong and do exploits. Keep your focus and see strength return unto you for great exploits.
