Focus On The Word

ree

Focus: Proverbs 4:21 - KJV

21. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.

Proverbs 3:21-23

The word of God as presented in the Holy Scriptures, is a compendium that may not be understood unless taken as a whole document. There are those who think there is no need to study and learn the Old Testament claiming since the New came to replace the Old, the Old has become irrelevant. However, unless there is a deep understanding of the Old, the New will not be as meaningful as intended. Hence, to truly have a grasp on the mind of God for mankind, it is important to keep the entire scripture in focus so as not to lose sight of the intendment of God. But those who keep the entire compendium in focus, are able to see with clarity, the heart of God regarding His words and put the same to practice for maximum gain.

Christ raised a team of disciples showing them the New Covenant between God and mankind. The bulk of them did not find it funny to move from their old believes and rest on what Christ taught them. In fact, at a point, almost all the followers deserted Him finding His teaching rather harsh. Then came Saul of Tarsus who knew so much of the Old covenant and was a teacher thereof. When the import of Christ’s teaching hit him, he was able to marry the Old with the New to realize and teach the word of God with the heart and mind of God. He knew what to believe when he put his focus on the entire word. Peter tried to be a conformist. At a point he ran into trouble for lack of focus, assuming the gentiles were common and unclean and that circumcision was a key thing even to Christianity thereby almost derailing many gentiles who had come to the faith.

The Lord is saying we should not let the enemy draw us into confusion regarding the word of God. As many as will keep the word in focus as one, will understand the mind of God and follow the path laid down by the word which has been affirmed by Christ in His earthly ministry. All those who will do so and not operate in confusion will assuredly have the peace of the Lord in all of their endeavors as the word becomes their unfailing guide.

Please pray:

Father, I thank you for your word which you made available to me and of which you teach me regularly by your Spirit. Please do not let your word depart from my focus and glare at any time that I may not run afoul of your law, in the name of Jesus. Let all things come to the obeisance of your name in my life by reason of my keeping focus on your word, in Jesus’ name. Since Jesus Christ is your word, let me never lose focus of Him, in Jesus’ name.

Please share with others. God bless you.
