Focus: Isaiah 61:10 - KJV
10. I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation,
Zechariah 3:1-5
It is always a great experience for the Lord to open our eyes to see our state in the spirit realm that we may appreciate how best we should pray, and what our requests should be. For, there are many who have foundational issues that keep asking for fruits from a tree that is dried up from its root. If the foundation be destroyed, what can the righteous do? Elisha had eyes to see that the Lord had him fortified with great soldiers, but his servant could not. Joshua the great priest, was adorning filthy garments and, with it, approached the holy one who dwells in purity. If we are able to assess our position properly, then are we able to address our situation truly, for the right redress.
Until the Lord cloaks us with the garments of salvation, our filthy garments stand in the way of actualizing the blessings that the Lord had prepared and purposed for us. The filthy garments are as a result of sin, which brings about impurity. No impurity is allowed access to the throne of God. Joseph was adorned with prison garments when his time was ripe to be enthroned. He needed first to be rid of the filth and properly cloaked, before coming to the presence of Pharaoh, who eventually, made him Prime Minister in Egypt. The same phenomenon plays out between us and the throne of God. Whilst we remain in sin, we are in filthy garments and kept in the prison of darkness. To get into the pride of place that the Lord has purposed for us, we must exit the prison, drop our filthy garments and take up the garments of salvation.
Beloved, it does not matter what level the world had placed you: many may call you man of God or any such praise-like names; you know yourself and where you are in the prism of the Lord. If you are in the habit of playing with the ‘little’ sins, you are already bearing the filthy garments and unless you drop them for the garments of salvation, that enthronement may continue to be delayed. The garments of salvation are available to those who will repent of their old ways and embrace the ways of salvation by submitting fully unto Jesus Christ, the possessor of the garments of salvation. Remember those invited to a marriage gathering from the streets in one of Jesus’ parables? Those that had no wedding garments were thrown out to weep, wail and gnash their teeth. It is important we get cloaked correctly, now.
SOLUTION: Take off the filthy garment by showing godly sorrow regarding the old ways; and then, confess to God your decision to live by Christ going forward. Once the filthy garment is off, please never return to try them for size again. Keep the garments of salvation fittingly on, never to remove it.
Please pray: Dear Lord, please give me eyes to assess my state from time to time that I may determine to be pleasing to you always, in Jesus’ name. I don’t want to be filthy ever again; please cloak me with the garments of salvation forever, in Jesus’ name.
Kindly share with others if you have been blessed by this Guide. God bless you as you do so, in Jesus' name.
