Gatherings God Honors

Focus: Matthew 18:20 - KJV

20. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

Acts 4:23-35

Our God is one that honors righteous unity. With Him, it is righteousness or nothing. It is a good thing to organize the coming together of people but it must be done in the name of the Lord and not for self-aggrandizement, weaponizing hunger and using the poverty in the land to pretend to be caring by providing food to lure people to gather. When such happens, it is not assertable that the people gather with their hearts with the Lord. When people gather with their hearts focused on the Lord, signs and wonders happen, more like from all of them and not necessarily from just one or a few men, whose supposed signs may just be coincidental, most of the time. When any two or three are gathered in the name of the Lord, God is present there. Where God is present, there is always something to show and indicate His presence. Solomon gathered people at the opening of the temple and God’s presence was seen such that even the ministers were overwhelmed and could not minister. In the Acts of the Apostles, when they gathered in His name, the place of their assemblage was shaken and they were ALL filled with the Holy Ghost.

Perhaps what is missing in the gatherings of our days as against that of the days in the Acts and the time of Solomon, is love. The Apostles introduced love to the extent that everyone had all things common. No one had more than the other in that all their wealth and riches were submitted into a common purse and administered to all, without fear or favor. Today, we gather for some to be lords and others to be peasants and treated like people in a concentration camp. The wealthy retain their wealth and flaunt the same in the face of others to the extent that they may be querying God about the glaring disparity. How then are they able to be with one mind that are so distraught about their circumstance? No wonder there is no longer such happenings as witnessed in the days of the true Apostles, today. Whatever we have, belongs to the Lord. As we do not despise the coming together of the saints, please let us lay down our possession for the succor of the needy always, so that they may be of one mind with us in gathering IN THE NAME OF THE LORD! Let us not ask people to come and be treated like animals in the sight of our God. He refuses to attend such gatherings.

May the Lord Himself teach us to appreciate what to do to gather properly unto Him in Jesus’ name. The Lord shall purge our hearts of the quest to be rich at all cost in Jesus’ name. The grace to be truly kind to the needy shall be bestowed on all from today in Jesus’ name. In the name that is above every other name, may we feel the presence of God more in our gatherings as we truly gather in the name of the Lord, in Jesus’ name.

SOLUTION: Let us endeavor to shun distractions when we do gather unto our God and ensure that we gather truly in His name with a meeting of minds as against gathering to seek what to eat. The bread of life is more filling than bread brought forth from stones.

If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name.
