5. Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.

Psalms 139:1-7

Our God is not only Omnipotent but also Omnipresent. He is not only present with a generality of people but also with every individual to know precisely what he does per second. If it is possible for wicked cyber-stalkers to monitor their target and extract facts for their illicit use, how much more will the Lord who has all wisdom be able to know every move of every man even as they are planned? There is nothing we do that is hidden before God. When He leaves us to our folly and we engage in things that do not glorify, it is not that He does not see us but has left us to learn a lesson in godliness by leaving us to fulfil our lusts and get scorched thereby. When it becomes a recurring decima, then He leaves the character concerned to suffer the fruit of his reprobate mind and acts.

Elisha was a man of God who knew the thoughts and plans of the king of Syria which had not been discussed outside his bedroom. God so enabled Elisha. David learnt the hard way. He did everything to hide his illicit affairs with Bathsheba from other men, particularly Urriah, her husband, not knowing that every move he made was seen of God. When God made his acts plain to him in a parable through the mouth of Prophet Nathan, he never imagined the prophet spoke of himself and could sit in judgment over the matter condemning himself to death for his misdeeds, before coming to realization.

If God should play back the record of heaven to us like a video, of all the secret sins we have been involved in, including the thoughts of our hearts, and make the actors not look like us, are we not likely to condemn the characters not knowing it speaks of ourselves? The Lord is saying “for how long shall we continue to deceive ourselves believing we can hide things from Him who knows all things?” The earlier we repent and be completely pure, the better for us. For it is then that He would truly and properly receive us unto Himself, guiding our back, going ahead of us and laying His hand on us for glory.

Please pray:

Father, I thank you for being all over me so that there is nowhere I can hide from you. Let your power hold me up that I may never do anything sinful for the rest of my life, in Jesus’ name. Every secret sin I have engaged in, including the thoughts of my heart, please cleanse with the blood of the Lamb today, in Jesus’ name. Help to purify me like gold, that I might be bold to declare that my body is your sanctuary forever more, in Jesus’ name.
