God Hears And Rescues

Focus: Jonah 2:1-2 – KJV - 1. Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish's belly, 2. And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.

The bane of mankind is that we assume at times that God is callous. No, He is Love. It is the enemy who seeks to steal, kill and destroy. Every man made of God is protected of Him from calamity. But because His eyes will not behold sin, when the enemy deceives man to sin, God separates from such man and the enemy gains access to his victim to mesmerize and shake him up. When this happens, the victim who is conscious knows his salvation is with the Lord whom he left due to sin. The moment he retraces his steps and returns to the Lord, the Lord hears him and restores his protection. No matter how far gone a person has been in sin, once he returns to God, the Lord opens His arms in embrace.

Hezekiah became sick unto death. Isaiah went to his bedroom and delivered a crushing word from the Lord: "Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live.” There was no medical cure, no second opinion, and no escape route. He was staring directly into the jaws of the grave. Hezekiah didn't argue or despair. Just like Jonah trapped in the dark fish, Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed desperately to the Lord, weeping bitterly from his soul. Before Isaiah could even leave the middle court of the palace, God intercepted him and sent him right back to Hezekiah with an immediate answer. God declared, "I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.” Hezekiah’s desperate cry completely reversed a death sentence.

It does not matter what the devil has done to shake and mesmerize you, the hands of the Lord are not short that He cannot rescue, neither are His ears heavy that He cannot hear. All He desires from you is that you return to Him with a repentant heart and He will hear your cry and ransom you from the jaws of death. Seek the face of the Lord today. Like the father was eagerly waiting for the return of the prodigal son, our father God is eagerly waiting for you to take this bold step of faith today, and rest assured, you will be back in His embrace before the end of day, if you will act now.

Prayer

Thank you, my loving father for always showing me mercy instead of judgment every time I call on you. I come to you today for your mercy and rescue from every trap of the enemy over my life. Let not the enemy have the victory over me. Please keep me afloat, well and prosperous, that I may be useful for your Kingdom on earth for many more years, by making me yet more than a conqueror, in Jesus’ name.

Please share. God bless you.
