God’s Workmanship

Focus: Ephesians 2:10 – KJV: For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

No one is an accident of creation. The manipulation of the enemy is responsible, often times for the manifestation of evil in the character of many. For every believer, God is the one that has created us in Christ Jesus to work on until we attain the stature of Christ in good works, walking in the footsteps of Christ. hence, from the day a believer becomes born again, until God’s glory begins to shine noticeably on him, he remains work in progress in the hands of God.

Esther was an orphaned Jewish girl living as a captive exile in the pagan Persian Empire. Humanly speaking, her background looked broken and disadvantaged. Yet, God was shaping her. He gifted her with extraordinary physical beauty, poise, and favor. Through a series of highly orchestrated events, Esther was chosen from among hundreds of women to replace Vashti as the Queen of Persia. She didn't campaign for the throne; God’s invisible hand positioned her there. When a wicked prime minister named Haman engineered a legal decree to completely annihilate all the Jews in the empire, Esther’s true purpose was unveiled. Her cousin Mordecai pinned her to the reality of it with his famous words: "who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?" God had pre-ordained this exact moment before Esther was ever born. She stepped out in bold faith, risked her life to approach the king, exposed the plot, and saved her entire nation from genocide. Esther didn't stumble into purpose; she simply walked into the good works God had before ordained for her. 

There is a custom-made purpose for your life which the Lord had ordained from the foundations of the world. He is moulding you into it from the time of your conversion into being a believer. It is important you walk in that purpose through good works until you achieve it, to please the Most-High. A deviation from purpose by settling down to some unconscionable comfort instead, is a way of jettisoning God’s plan and bringing His investment over your life to a waste. If you are not at the place of fulfilling the purpose, you remain work in progress in His hands. Just remain focused, you will get there.

Prayer:

Thank you, father for choosing me from the foundations of the earth for a special purpose for you; and thank you for all you have been doing in my life to get me to this point in the journey. Please keep me focused on the goal that my works may prove your purpose, dear Lord. Let this day bring me nearer your will than ever through good works, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
